Athletic: Enjoy the sport of wrestling for as long as I can; keep learning; now that I have made the 2012 Olympic team, I will strive to compete to the best of my ability, I aim to be on that podium again!
Academic: Complete the last year of my Master's program in Counselling Psychology at Athabasca University
Career: Fulfill the requirements to become a registered psychologist; work with athletes as a psychologist; and become a wrestling coach.
I'm fascinated by the power the mind has over a person's perceptions, emotions, and behaviours. I have spent many years as an athlete and a student trying to understand this power and have come to the realization that this is a highly individualized, lifelong pursuit!
I love being active! It has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have always been running, jumping, climbing, and tumbling. As often as I can I run, cycle, and play sports. When I retire from wrestling, I look forward to doing more!
Because of wrestling, travel has been a big part of my life. I hope to continue exploring the world!
I love reading books! I read all kinds of genres, but I am particularly drawn to fantasy and action/adventure novels. I loved the Harry Potter series, anything by Terry Brooks, and I am currently reading A Song of Fire and Ice series by George R. R. Martin (a new HBO TV series Game of Thrones is based on it). Next on the list: Hunger Games.
